Clyde's New Space

Image
Over the weekend, Clyde  transitioned from his crib to a twin bed. We also swapped Camille and Clyde's rooms. A week or so ago, we purchased twin beds from Walmart for Clyde. We don't have a play space in our  house so all the toys are kept in the kid's rooms. We decided that Clyde's new beds would work better in Camille's larger room and we could try to turn that room into also a great play space. It seems to have worked! As a recap here is Camille's room before..... And now as Clyde's new room..... The beds can bunk but with Clyde's "carefree nature" we felt it was better to leave them as twins for now. You may remember this post . They ended up being larger than we thought but it works well because Clyde has been sleeping in the bed against the far wall and it has a crib like feel. Now to some other elements in the room. Last week, I shared my bookshelf find from the Salvation Army. Here is the before.... Notice Clyde on the left. This wa...

What else could you ask for? A city's listings hovering around around long term highs - double those of the financial crisis, 12.5% of those listings are home to nothing more than arachnids and a developer is getting primed to serve up some off the plan goodies. Fist pump for Devonport. Devonport's old maternity hospital, a long-term haven for asbestos ingesting vandals, will morph into an art-deco apartment complex.16 ground-level units, 17 units on both the first and second floors, seven third-level units and fourth floor penthouses. After a finance delay and about a year after the developers got their hands on the joint, someone's stumped up the cash for the $10 million development.   Now my response would be obvious by now, but who cares? $10 million into the local construction coffers, can't see anything wrong with that, nor prettying up something more noxious than this blog. But who are these developers kidding? Some of the first responses to the news... I'v...

Confidence

Don't you just hate it. A new post all ready to go, then some smart arse goes and sells a house. A house that's been on the market over two years, already discounted 23% and wait for it, declares boom times are just around the corner. Of course, as this site and others have regularly proven, the real estate industry is damn adept at finger painting with poo and shouting, "look Mummy, I've painted the sun." With six bedrooms and three crappers, this Burnie house is reasonably impressive. Sleep in a new bed for most nights of the week and never get bored by sitting on the same toilet twice in a row. Hey, I'm sold, but most weren't. Hence the reason it's been on the market for over two years. It started out with an ambitious $1.5 million price tag, which eventually wiggled its way down to $1.15 million, with the vendor willing to negotiate on that. Of course the discounting was superfluous to the report in the The Advocate... PRDnationwide property consul...

For the Ladies... Leg Shine Reveal/Give-Away!!

Image
Sorry it has taken me so long to post this!! I have been crazy busy! Ok so I know MANY people are thinking I am going to reveal this... . The coveted Michael Kors Leg Shine stick.... But NOPE ... there is something better! I went to Sephora to buy this and they were sold out, the lady said everyone is asking for it, they can't keep it in stock... but they did have a little travel mini one for $10 so I got that to try it. Maybe it's just me... but I hated it! It was so stinky! Yuck! The smell gave me a headache kinda. And I couldn't really tell that I had even put anything on?? So this was a bust for me. Maybe it's my skin lol but I don't know what all the hype is about!?!?!  So I got another one that my friend Kelly had told me about... Kelly's legs are ALWAYS so shiny and glittery and just glowing! Drumrollllllllllll....... Lorac TANtilizer Award Show GLOW! Ammmazzzziingggg! I bought mine at Sephora for $32, however, if you don't have a Sephora near you... ...

Bookshelf Found!

Image
Found this great bookshelf at the Salvation Army. I paid $80 which I felt was a little high but it was so perfect I couldn't leave it in the store. This weekend, we are moving Clyde into a "big boy" bed and switching Camille and Clyde's bedrooms. My house  looks like a bomb exploded. Clyde's new beds, bedspreads, sheets, mattresses and this shelf sitting in my living and dining rooms. I plan to paint the shelf and there is already one coat of primer on it. Stay tuned for before and afters of our room switch!
