Let's Get Organized

Image
I ran across these checklists on the Mimi and Meg Blog . I thought they were a good starting point for getting organized in 2012. If you are thinking of putting your house on the market, these lists can help you get off on the right foot. Buyers will look in your closets, drawers and cabinets. And if you are looking for an agent, give me a call. I would love to work with you and offer complimentary staging services for all my sellers. Source Source If you are staying put for a while, it can't hurt to get organized. I need to do quite a few things on these lists. You should see my linen closets...yikes!

This is embarassing....

Last week, this is what my closet floor looked like..... And Michael's was just as bad.....okay maybe mine was worse. A quick trip to Target fixed the problem.... Phew! Much better. We can actually see our shoes when getting dressed in the morning.

Craft Cabinet Organized

Image
When we remodeled our kitchen almost 2 years ago, we had to create some cabinets on one side of our bar that were only about 8 inches deep. I used them for toys mostly but lately they seemed to be  almost empty. Camille loves to color and do crafts and all of her craft stuff is in a large bin in her closet. It was hard to see everything in the bin and know what we had. So over the  weekend, it dawned on me to use the kitchen cabinets to organize the  crafts since we do most of our coloring and work at the kitchen bar anyway. I am so happy with it. I can also put a child lock on so little hands don't get in there unattended. I used magazine holders and a file sorter for the paper. Since the cabinets are only 8 inches  deep, the paper needed to stand up to fit. Most of the  bins inside the cabinet are from the Dollar Tree.

Spring Cleaning

Image
We had a fun weekend that involved a Mardi Gras cookout and parade....well actually the parade part never really happened but our wagon looked great. On Sunday, I did some spring cleaning and organizing. It feels good to get our closets in order. They were a mess! Bathroom Closet Before Bathroom Closet After Hall Closet Before Hall Closet After Pantry Before Pantry After Pantry After I found quite a few missing pens, hair barrettes and it turns out that I have three 32 oz cartons of chicken broth. Here a picture of my little helpers mess-makers with the peanuts they squished all over our rug.

Office Update!

Things are getting busy on the real estate front and my desk was a mess! I was starting to feel very unorganized. Check out these befores....yikes! And here are the afters....much better! I purchased some in/out trays for file folders & paper, and an small organizer for pens, paper clips etc. Added some pictures that were leftover from my grandmother's move I have always loved this frame. I used a print from the flower book I purchased last summer and removed the stand on the frame, added a hook on the back. It was super easy! This cabinet is a weird size and  doesn't fit a normal size file box. I used  magazine holders and turned them sideways to line my files up.
