Last spring, we planted a garden and it was fun to watch it grow and we got a fair amount of veggies from it. You can read more about our garden last year here , here , here  and here . So a couple weekends ago, we planted a new round of plants and seeds. Camille planted only flower seeds in her garden and we planted a few more seeds to the left of Camille's space for Clyde's "garden". In the larger area, we planted strawberries, lettuce, tomato plants, and jalapeno seeds. I also planted cilantro, basil and parsley in a pot this year. I checked out a few books from the library about vegetable gardens but I am not sure I learned too much. We will see what happens.

Last April we planted a garden, you can read about it here and here . It was a fun project that is still providing veggies for us. Look what I pulled out of our garden this week. We have one tomato plant and one pepper plant left. I was at the greenhouse today and they had romaine, arugula, cabbage and cauliflower on sale....10 plants for $5. I read that those plants would survive cooler temperatures so I decided to try it. Here is our garden now. We are all ready for fall around here. I found these mums at the Dollar Tree! Woohoo!

Look what we pulled from our garden! So excited and can't wait to see how everything tastes. I have to say the squash is a funky color so not too sure! Check out those tomato plants. They are now leaning over so I have to figure that out. Tomorrow, Michael and I are off on a 3 night vacation alone! We haven't done something like this since our honeymoon almost 7 years ago. So my tomato plants are now my height. Now, I am not too tall but I had no clue that tomato plants could get to be 5'6"! As a recap...here is what they looked like in April. And now.... I think I will stop fertilizing! We have a bunch of tomatoes on them just waiting for them to turn red. We also have one squash. Does anyone know when squash are ready to pick? I am also not sure about Camille's carrots and how I will know when those are ready. We also have a bunch of cilantro and used it last weekend to make this great guacamole . And I never did  a weekend recap post...so here goes. I had a great weekend that involved helping first time home buyers find their dream home. So excited for them. Last weekend, we purchased this nozzle for our hose. I LOVE it! Previously, we had one that leaked water all over the place so we really  could  only go up from there but this sprayer is the best! It has 7 patterns and  works so well. What a steal for $6.97. Click here to purchase one for yourself. I have been doing a lot of watering. Look at our garden now! We have our first tomato! Here is our garden in April when we started. And now at the end  of  May! It looks a mess but there is nothing I can do about it. The tomato plants are so tall. Our first tomato! We have been doing a ton of work in our yard and there is still so much to be done. Here is my flower garden near that patio that I re-planted this spring. Everything is growing so well this year. I am so excited because we have decided to plant a garden! I wanted to do it last spring and summer but never got my act together. Here is what our very sunny garden bed looked like before. Yikes! Last fall, I dug up a bunch of lilies that never bloomed. I gave them to friends and family and transplanted some to other areas in my yard. I left all my iris which I love and am hoping will bloom again soon. Here is what the garden looks like now. We still have finish fencing and get cages for our tomato plants. We planted 3 tomato plants, 1 cucumber, 1 squash, 1 bell pepper, basil, cilantro and jalapeno pepper. We also planted a little garden for Camille and all she wanted in there was carrots but we also put a few flower seeds down as well.  I hope it is a success. We have never done anything like this before.
