Catching Up Part 2: Papaw & My New Obsessions

Image
Well this past weekend we took a little surprise road trip... :) It was so fun to just get away and relax and visit with our family down in Virginia and Tennessee. We planned to go down so that I could attend my cousin, Anna's, baby shower in Knoxville! I wouldn't have missed it for the world... she is the sweetest, kindest, most caring person and through the years we have stayed close even though never really living in the same state I don't think ha ... but I was so thrilled for her and her husband when they found out they were pregnant and I was set on making sure I could attend her shower! I'm doing a separate post on this later to show her cute shower! Before we went to Knoxville, we actually went to see my Papaw and stayed with him for two nights...I also got to see my Aunt Cathy and celebrate a super late Christmas! My papaw is seriously one of the funniest people you would ever meet... and he doesn't even try to be. This was him at my brother's 21st birt

New & Bright for Spring

Image
Buy this for spring! It is $8.80 and much more expensive looking! I am very impressed with the quality for less than $9. (Note...I purchased online so did have to pay shipping. I am not sure if they have it in  store but if you call your local store with the item number they can look it up.) I also found these bright blue jeans at Old Navy this week for $19. Mine had a slight flaw so I got an additional 10% off. Richmonders...the Willow Lawn Old Navy is sold out of a bunch of sizes. Here's to spring! We had snow and an almost 80 degree day within one week. Crazy weather!

Hiiiiiya! I'll tell you what, people who say blogging is addicting sure know what they are talking about! It has officially been 10 days since I have blogged, and I feel empty haha. I have not slacked on purpose, so don't judge, but I have seriously been super busy selling some houses (yay!)... then sick :( ... then out of town for a mini vaca (post to come!)... and then super busy again! I feel like I have so much to share... but I think I'm going to break them down into a couple different posts this week as to not totally picture overload yall! Since I missed Valentine's Day :( I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of my day ... the day before we did some fun little presents with the kids... They had fun, we got them little surprises and some candy... we got the girls each a Moon & Lola monogrammed necklace and they loved them! (Need to post pic, forgot to take one!) The next morning Jake was over so I fixed him a Valentine's Day breakfast :) (Sorry

Menu Planner

Image
Michael broke out the deep fryer yesterday and he fried his first turkey! It was delicious and we didn't have to use the first extinguisher! Success! My mom, Michael parents and my sister and her family helped us devour it. My sister brought mashed potatoes made with Swiss cheese and I made Savory Green Beans  to go with our Fried Turkey . Oh and I can't forget these Pretzel Bites  with Cheese Sauce that I made as an appetizer. They were the best! I made some Cinnamon sugar ones as well and am going to make the vanilla glaze today as we sit inside and wait for the maybe snow! I plan to sneak some banana into that glaze...my Clyde is getting really, really picky! The bird before.... Going in for the deep fry.... Finished product... Here is this week's menu planner. Sunday - Pork Tenderloin, Baked Beans, Corn (carryover's from previous week) Monday - Mexican Black Bean Lasagne Tuesday - Spiced Mini Burgers with Cucumber Relish Wednesday - Casserole Queens Ziti Bake Thursd

Missing in Action!

Image
Phew! Where are the weeks going? Sorry for the lack of posts, I have been trying to manage everything (work, family, exercise, etc) and blogging has been low on the priority list. Also, I ran out of photo storage on Blogger so I had to figure out another means....this is my first post using Flickr. Here is what we have been up to.... Lots of Coloring...watercolor by Camille Lots of Ice Cream Sandwich Eating...yes...Clyde is wearing a diaper only! It happens....frequently!   Lots of Baby Care giving. I have been working my tail off...so today I splurged on this . It was on sale and I ended up getting an additional 15% off the sales price so the total was around $131. This is a big purchase for me but I have one other Kate Spade bag that Michael gave me for Christmas probably 5 or more years ago and I still use it. So hopefully this is a good investment. Plus you use a purse ever day so that like good jeans...I feel like you can spend a little more! I can't wait for it to arrive! (So

Happy Birthday Mimi!

Image
Today is Chris's mom, Cathi's, (aka Mimi which is what the kids call her) birthday!! Did you follow all that? ha We celebrated yesterday at our house... and actually had a birthday/valentine's day party which was so much fun! We were so happy to have everyone over to hang out, eat, open presents & watch the game! I made little Valentine's Day goodie bags for all the kids... We had lots of balloons and fun presents... (Lex peeps, the Party Store on Nicholasville Rd has those red mylar balloons 20 for $10! Can't beat it if you're having a Valentine's Day party or just want to decorate your casa up a bit!) Look at these super cute birthday plates... Katie I thought of you as soon as I saw them ha!! You will need these for your next birthday bash I think! :) Cathi LOVES the beach.. I'm talkin loves it! They go to Florida all the time and it is for sure their favorite thing to do... so I opted for a cute beach theme cake :) Seashells, sand, flip flops,

Everybody Needs a Photo Booth Prop Set!

Image
I love doing fun, crafty, creative stuff... this is probably not a surprise to anyone! hehe :) With that said, one of my favorite things at weddings is when the bride and groom have a photo booth, or photo props, etc. I think it is so fun, for adults and kids, and something that people can save as a memory forever! When my friend, Stephanie, got married last year they had an awesome photo booth and we had a blast with it! Now clearly, we can't have a photo booth in our house...  ( how awesome would that be for my crazy parties though? lol )  so I decided to order these cheap, fun, little props to make our own "photo booth" pics if you will... Take a look at The Manic Moose on Etsy ...  They have SO MANY FUN THINGS! Great props for weddings...  classrooms ( all my teacher sistas out there!) birthday parties & more!! Here is the mini prop set I got... Only $26   (one of the smaller ones, they have huge fun ones for up to $100) Filled with just enough fun stuff to last
