Simple Home Projects: Using Your Children's Artwork

I purchased these prints from TJMaxx right after Michael and I got married so about 9 years ago. When I look at this picture, I think "Why oh why did I have them in my house for so long?"

My kids come home with tons of artwork from school and I save the pieces I am most attracted to in a drawer in our living room. We have a few of Camille's creations displayed already. See posts here and here. So in looking for something to fill these frames that was FREE, I ran across two of Clyde's creations with similar colors and backgrounds. Even though the frames and mats are very traditional. I love the look and Clyde is so proud to have his artwork on display.





While we were at it, I made this switch from the art featured in this post to a new one Camille created this summer at VFMA art camp. My iPhone picture is horrible. Sorry! It has great colors.

Superhero Soccer Party

A few weeks ago, Clyde turned 4 and we celebrated at a local sports park, Scor . He wanted a superhero theme to go with the soccer party so I did my best to pull that off! First off, I purchased this clip art from Etsy. I was going to try to design the invitation myself but am lacking talent in that department so ended up getting local Elizabeth from Sunshine Ink Studio to create for me. Much cuter then what I pulled together.  For the cake, I ordered plain cupcakes with green polka dots from Kroger. The polka dots were far from what I had in mind but the kids didn't care! Snow day....

Camille with my niece, Vail We woke up yesterday to an unexpected snow day! Woohoo! There is snow on the ground but I am thinking spring ! I tried on this cute dress at Kohl's earlier this week. It was more expensive in store than online! I left it in the store but am still thinking about it especially with the $32 price tag. Could be nice for Easter if it is chilly. Deal found! Crocs!

Even though it is so cold we can't go outside and play for more than 5 minutes at a time and we may or may not be going stir crazy!  I am starting to think about spring. I found this post about 70% off at Crocs.com from athriftymom.com . After browsing, I decided to get these cute Crocs for Camille. They were on sale for $12.49. I searched here for coupon codes and ended up getting them for $9.99 after using a free shipping and 20% off coupon. What a steal!
